Présentation
A discreet sign on the building façade testifies to the historical importance of the L’Écluse project. In fact, it is the first inhabited CLTB project and therefore, the first CLT project in continental Europe. The beginning of a series to come!
The building is located near the canal lock in Molenbeek, a neighbourhood where gentrification is taking place. It consists of 9 houses built by the Fonds du Logement in 2013.
In April 2014, CLTB received a subsidy from the Brussels Region to purchase the land. This made the housing affordable for the nine families who now live there.
CLTB worked with its partner associations Convivence and La Rue in preparation of the project. In 2015, festivities were marked by a ribbon cutting!
