Description
The Abbé Cuylits project is in the heart of a rapidly evolving neighbourhood. Public and private urban development is revitalizing the area, but not usually at the benefit of the most vulnerable. Given the neighbourhood’s current challenges, it makes sense to carry out a Community Land Trust project here.
Temporary occupation: 1/3 lieu-Plek AbC
CLTB partnered with Communa and CLTB to assemble a group of local organisations in order to open a completely self-run temporary socio-cultural centre.
1/3 Lieu-Plek AbC brought together CLTB, Samenvoormorgen, HOMEforLESS, Gilbard, Maÿtu, and Smartmush to create Fungal Lab, an upcycling atelier and store, two homeless shelters, and a meeting space for the neighbourhood. It was also the CLTB cooking atelier headquarters, which started a table d’hôtes project in September 2019.
